This early Milan model from the 1600s probably derives from the Grancino school.
Just like the original, we build it using a one-piece maple back cut from slab. This remarkably wide model with the somewhat softer slab wood produces a mellow but powerful sound that can easily be heard through all background noise due to its great clarity.
The upper bouts though are quite slender, thus making it easy to shift in higher positions.
